Yes, because (for example) otherwise the light source in a spectrophotometer needs to be characterized and it's characteristics needs to be published and maintained Worse, they need to be compared to actual viewing booth lights (instead of measuring those lights with the same spectrophotometer). Which leaves no room for marketing. Just terrible.
