Bring Back Uncompressed RAW
Feb 21, 2014

Do you think Sony will ever give us back uncompressed RAW?

I've never been much of a fan of Sony forcing us on cRAW (even more so that they don't even call it cRAW anymore, leading to confuse some), but I have been using it reluctantly since they give me no other option. Some may claim their is no noticeable difference, others will disagree. I am one of those that believes that information is being lost and that in certain situations it will rear it ugly head. With the cameras now going to 14-bit and Sony still using a similar compression as they did with their 12-bit captures, it seems it is going to be more evident. These articles give a fine example of the shortcomings of forcing us to use cRAW:

Seeing that this is starting to get some visibility, do you think Sony may reconsider giving us a choice again to choose between RAW and cRAW?
