A lot of the lenses I use on my A7r are no bigger than Fuji primes. The FE35 is tiny, smaller than the Fuji. A Rokkor 50mm F1.4 is quite small, so is a Canon FD85.

FE 24-70 is bigger than Fuji 18-55 but may not be bigger than Fuji 16-55 F2.8.

Zeiss Contax g 35, 45 and 90 are tiny and wonderful.

Nikon 105 F2.5 isn't that big either. Nikon 180mm F2.8 ED is light and not that big.

Canon 70-200 is pretty big but so is 55-200.

So I am not so sure the lenses are always smaller in X series. Overall probably yes but with careful choice I don't think its that big of a difference. Of course you can use any of these lenses on your X camera (except Sony FE).

Greg.

Since their flange distance is almost identical, equivalent lenses will have roughly the same sizes, unless they come up with a revolutionary design or use exotic glass. (p/s: don't give me that 2.8 APSC is better than 4.0 FF bullcrap)
