Low aperture lens for 60D?

I am wondering what would be a good everyday prime lens which is wide enough for general use, using indoors, for travelling, etc (50mm is too close). A lens which will give me effects similar to those of the photographers linked below (not counting what's done in photoshop)...

I currently have a 15-85mm (keeping in mind I have a crop frame camera), and I love it, but it is too heave for carrying and it doesn't have a low aperture.

Any input will be appreciated!
