Binoculars
Feb 19, 2014

I am interested in buying a nice set of binoculars. Mainly for general use and some birding. I've been looking aroung at different reviews and such to familiarlize myself with the different features, etc. My price range is $200 to $400 but might go $500 if someone could make a compelling case for the extra $. I reciently re-uped my sub to Consumer Reports regarding a printer only to discover on Amazon it was one of the worst consumer rated products available? This has happened before so I'm not too keen on CR advise. I'm sure DPR members can do much better???

I'm probably going with the 8x or 10x model and am still not sure which is the best choice. Most reviews say the 8x allows more light/clarity but the difference is not enough to not get the 10x.

If you have a favorite would appreciate some examples of why you think so.

Cheers
