Apples & Oranges
All of us like new gear. We all like gear with great reviews. But, when something 1/2 the price blows away other gear, twice the price, coming out of the same factory, you have to ask why ? When a lens tests far better than it's more costly brother or similar cousins, well you get the idea. I think a standard needs to be set. A common sensor/body with adapters for various mounts would tell you more than images/data from 16,20, 24, & 36mp bodies. Why something adaptable is not used for base tests baffles me. With new gear, brand name & third party, the combo's are endless. It's ok to test a brand lens on a brand body, we get that. But, to judge a piece of gear without a common test base, seems pointless. The forums are filled with opinions we believe are carved in stone. But, like the names written at the beach, gone with the next wave (of new gear).
