Well I can tell you that there is no s in French on the word quoi.

Confirmed. 'Quoi' means 'what' in French and doesn't take the plural form, much as its equivalent in English.

For those unfamiliar with French or that expression, "je-ne-sais-quoi" (literally : "I don't know what") describes an undefined quality that one can experience or feel but is unable to describe objectively, or to relate to factual criteria. It is a mixture of style, feel, user experience, etc. It may apply to a person, the work of an artist, an object, a house, etc.

I shoot Canon in the digital age, but have two nikon F2 which I still use when I feel like shooting B&W film.

The Df is most certainly a fine camera, but I was able to handle it at a store and I didn't connect. On the other hand, whenever I pick the outdated F2, I feel a profound connection, to the point that I sometimes load it with a film just for the pleasure of using it.

So for me, it is the Nikon F2 which has this "je-ne-sais-quoi" !

Mind you, the "je-ne-sais-quoi" is absolutely subjective and irrational.
