Do you think I would need any additional protection besides a filter to protect the lens? I am going to India next month and I was wondering if the weatherproofing is enough or if I would need additional protection like an Op-Tech sleeve or something.

Absolutely not!!!. Its not the water that is the problem. The camera is ok with splashing and stuff. it stye Colors. Color can enter a lot of places were it can get annoying and hard to remove. Dry color is absolutely murder for a camera. Ur better off with a stylus tough camera that is completely sealed.
