Specs mean nothing. Images mean everything. We don't frame specs and hang them up on our walls.

When buying a lens, what do we do? Look at someone's pictures taken with a number of lenses and make a selection based on what we see?

Specs might guide you a bit (i.e. focal length), but it's ultimately the samples that make the sale.
