Why choose an X-T1 instead of a DSLR?

This right here. If CaNikon had a quality APSC lineup, many would not have switched to mirrorless APSC, as the size and weight advantages will be minimal but the DSLRs will cost much lower with more consistent results. The cost of XT1 is only $200 shy of a latest generation fullframe camera.
