EM1 at 1600 ISO, is this to be expected?

What I noticed is that you under exposed 1.3EV. Look up this thread http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3615816where I had asked why my pics are noisy and learnt about ETTR(expose to the right). or basically if you underexpose your "sky" areas will have noise. Just don't underexpose and enjoy your noise free photos.

BTW This is common in all cameras. Even a 6D will have sky noise when you underexpose am already dark scene. This is why people use Neutral Density Filters to get a "darker" feel.
