Sigma - Great customer service!
Yes, it was a refurbished lens. Its working fine now. No squeaking noises and the focus ring rotates well. It works the same IMO before and after. Just the squeaking and catching issues are gone.

I had purchased a 17-70mm 2.8-4 late last year and contacted support a month after the 90 days warranty expired. Without even my asking, they agreed to service my lens for free. I've heard mostly good things about them. Someone on this forum has had problems regarding a screw inside the lens - it's hard to pick sides on something like that.
When a company stands behind their product when they don't have to (technically) that's always good to hear.
90 days? Was it a refurb?
