You have that back to front. An ISO rating does not 'produce' and exposure. An ISO rating maps an exposure to a given tonal value. You set that exposure you get the given tonal value, so ISO determines the exposure that you choose, not the other way round. As for the second point, once again, gain is no part of ISO, sensor read chains have all sorts of different gains, depending on how they have been designed. There is no standard setting of gain to go with an ISO.
