Now that A7/R has arrived with lowest-ever pricing for FF cameras, is there even a market for an $1100 APS-C E-mount camera body anymore?

The NEX7 was one of those products that was 98% perfect (video button aside) from the very start, and upgrading it was always going to be tricky. What more could they have done: More pixels, faster AF, wifi/apps? Great, but we'd have all taken a collective yawn and stuck with our "old" cameras.

Not all products will have direct successors: Get used to it!

Well look at it from another perspective: will Panasonic, Fuji, Olympus et al continue to sell $1100 sub FF cameras despite the A6000 and the A7/R? The answer is clearly yes, so I imagine Sony will want to keep filling that gap too.
