And by the way, the Win 8, with its screen poking interface philosophy is a known commercial flop - and would be even more so, if not for the possibility - provided by III-rd parties SW, to install UI which brings back the standard classic Win functionalities and UI layout

There is nothing wrong with (old or young) people being reluctant to accept new technologies and interfaces as long as they don't oppose it and don't stand on the way for younger generation who have no or weak attachments to the old things. The mistake MS did with Windows 8 is underestimating the consumer resistance to the change and instead of leaving it as an option for consumers to opt the old classic versus the new interface, they opted for forcing everybody into something they weren't prepared for. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with the Win 8's interface. It's so funny when you talk as if iPad was a painful experience to you. If it was, just move back to the familiar interface; no reason for traumatizing the whole experience of trying something different and not liking it which, is something not expected from someone which, according to stereotypes is supposed to possess that 'old age wisdom'!
