Well, 11fps with live tracking AF is something. It's faster than OMD E-M1 and mind you it's an APS-C sensor with 24.3 Mp! Fastest AF (in the world?) 0.06s CIPA.

How do you know it is faster? Sony only compared it to other APS-C cameras that were in the same test as their camera with who knows what lens and how they were configured? Their claim is utter BS without knowing that information. It is purely marketing.

Shall we say that DSLR speed from now on is lagging behind latest mirrorless cameras like a6000? I honestly see no point in any further mirror usage in cameras from now on.

Go to a low light event and see how well that AF works?

All the examples I have seen have been in excellent light with very wide lenses. I have seen some good stills pulled from longer focal length lenses, but I want to see a demonstration. I can easily get a good still of a subject running towards my mirrorless camera with AF-S (if all I need is for the first shot to be in focus).

Fast AF with a wide lens with a hyperfocal distance of 11 feet wide open is not at all impressive, that is like fast AF on the Nikon 1. I want to see that fast of AF with the 50mm f/1.8, and then I will be impressed.

Overall the A6000 does look fairly nice, and a fair price, but I still think it is 90% hype.

Eric
