Testing my 12-40 2.8, need input from the experts

I recently purchased the Olympus 12-40 2.8, replacing a Panasonic 12-35 2.8. Admittedly I haven't put it through it's paces yet, but what shots I've taken seemed a bit soft. So I pulled out my lens calibration target I had used with my DSLR years ago and set about taking some test shots. I honestly can't tell 100%, but it looks like it's back focusing some. I could be completely imagining it though. Could some of the experts around have a look at these shots and tell me if you concur or not?

All shots were at 40mm, on tripod, IS off, and target was on another tripod. I leveled everything as best I could with bubble levels and the built in level of the EM-5. I may still be skewed a bit, but I honestly can't tell that either. They have also been cropped and a little sharpening added in LR.

Thanks in advance.
