Olympus 12 F/2.0 vs. Olympus 12-40 F/2.8

I can buy an Olympus 12mm for $600 second hand, the Olympus 12-40 is around the $1000 mark new. I have the Olympus 14-42 so I would be duplicating if I bought the 12-40. I'm looking for a wide lens, that is bright enough to use indoors and at night without ISO boosting. The 14-42 simply does not do it.

The 12mm would not duplicate anything I can do already, which is a good thing, the 12-40 would be a full replacement for the 14-42 but at a cost...

My 14-42 is bright enough most of the time, I'm thinking about just getting the 12mm but I've heard that there is some distortion particularly on the outer edges, this bothers me as I shoot landscapes and need sharp edge to edge performance.

Which lens should I buy? Is the 12-40 worth the extra money despite the fact that it is slower?
