Current Panasonic flash limitations?

Back in 2011, I posted a thread detailing a couple peculiar limitations with Panasonic cameras, specifically the GH2 but then confirmed to be the case with all Panasonic cameras to date (for reference: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/39049745).

If a device the camera considers to be a flash is connected to the hot shoe, including a simple non-TTL flash or even a device such as a hotshoe-mounted GPS logger:

  • The camera's shutter speed is capped at the manufacturer specified x-sync speed (on the GH2, 1/160sec)
  • The camera disallows sequential shooting modes (even if the attached device is a flash whose recycle speed is known to be faster than the camera's sequential framerate).

I was simply wondering if this situation has changed at all with the current cameras, the GH3, GX7, etc.
