With the announcement of the A6000 and the clame of the fasted AF speed new sensor, one can ask themselves if the SLT design A-mount has come to the end ? if Sony implement this on sensor AF in a A-mount mirrorless, who need the SLT design ??

are there other technical restrictions to accomplish a A-mount mirrorless with the same A6000 sensor with fast AF speed for a new DSLR without SLT?

Not many people believe that the A-mount could go full mirrorless, Sony made some brand new innovations in the past, so way not in such a way now, I think it's just a matter of time anyway, of cours it would need to have IBIS also, maybe the upcoming A79 could be a transition camera with SLT and improved on sensor AF together ? if the new A6000 has that, why would the A79 not have that new on sensor AF system ? what do you think.

If it comes, it will likely have similar speed and AF coverage benefits from improved on sensor PDAF, faster processor and faster sensor read out, either as SLT or who knows, mirrorless indeed.
