Basic tabletop lighting question(s)
Feb 12, 2014

I'm teaching myself photography and I would like to request tips and/or recommendations for a basic tabletop macro/still-life studio kit (tent and lights). Right now I want to focus (pardon the pun) on experimenting with DOF (using small figures and objects), shooting with different shutter speeds using a "Newton's cradle", and taking macro shots.

I have access to both a high-end compact and a DSLR, so I'll be using both. Obviously, self- learning, I only need to use a very basic setup. I was thinking of something along the lines of what I see listed on B&H [Polaroid Studio Kit, Imapct Digital Light Shed-Medium].

Thankyou for any suggestions, tips, and advice you may be to offer!
