Canada to go into budget surplus soon

After years being hoodwinked into spending a massive amount of (cough) stimulus spending by the Liberals and NDP during the Conservatives minority government of 2008.... throwing off the Conservatives plan to balance the budget ... Harper's Conservatives subsequent majority government allowed them to make the tough decisions necessar to put the country back on track to balancing the budget and soon will be in surplus status.

Consider this....

When the Conservatives first got into power in 2006, Canada was spending 17 cents of every tax dollar on debt, Last year, that was down to 11 cents and it should hit 10.5 cents this year.

That's how it's done folks - Get the debt down, or get rid of it all together FIRST, then you'll have ALL kinds of cash for feel-good programs, medicare.. etc. that are FULLY funded... instead of borrowing 20, 30, 40, 50 cents on the dollar to pay for them.

Running a country's finance / budget is not unlike running your own home budget. Live within your means, and you won't have to waste/throw away your money on interest ... leaving more money for other things. Simple logic.
