XT1 = Cash Grab?
Feb 12, 2014

The X100S, X-E2, and now the XT-1 all share the same sensor, the same processor, the same retro emphasis on manual controls and no-frills, pure photography.

The X100S (fixed lens, smaller, cheaper) and XE (ILC) duo makes sense.

But a fantastic EVF, an ISO dial and a tillable screen? As luring as these features are, they don't improve image quality; and they could have remained in Fuji's back pocket until the next generation of cameras actually do.

I don't blame Fuji. They've rightfully garnered the photography community's support, and are doing what any corporation would. But I still hope Fuji won't be just another peddler of consumerist-driven, incremental improvements.

Your thoughts?
