4:3 Ratio sensor worst idea!!

Most of the pics will have to be cropped which makes these sensor inneficient.

These days most screens are 3:2 or 16:9 in computer, smartphones, Let alone HD video and TV sets.

Canon is losing it.

There are 3:2 monitors?? Old ones were 4:3. New ones are 16:9 AFAIK. The newest 4K are coming in at close to 1.9:1 (256:135).

4:3 is closer to 1:1 which actually maximizes the image circle better than 3:2. They you are more free to crop to all sorts of options. If you want 1:1, a 4:3 sensor will crop out less than a 3:2.

3:2 is spot on for the old 6X4 photo size, but 4:3 is much closer to 5X7 and 8X10 printing formats (states-based sizes).

If you want 16:9, you'll end up cropping anyway.

If you "think" or "see" in 3:2 because that's been the ratio for your DSLR, well that's a valid concern, but I don't think monitor or printing sizes is really an issue.
