It's twice the size of the RX100 ii, that seems a huge difference to me. It's even heavier than a SL1 DSLR with kit zoom (I know, apples and oranges ...).

Are there any size specs? Trying to see where it is twice the size of RX100.

To me it looks like it's about the size of a Canon M with the pancake lens. With a large sensor and 24-120 and pretty fast lens, this would make a great vacation camera. I almost find the lens specs too good to be true. If you can get sharpish corners at 24mm when you stop down, this is going to be a great camera.

116.3 x 74.0 x 66.2 550g
102 x 58 x 38 mm 281g

however, the RX100 is 1" sensor with a 28-100mm lens 1.8 to 4.9 , versus a 1.5" sensor 24-120mm lens 2.0 to 3.9

Weight and depth are where is is larger (if your quoted dimensions are correct). 24mm vs 28mm is a huge selling feature over an RX100

As I said, it is twice the weight of the RX100 ii and about twice the size (volume). This is not to say anything negative about the G1X ii, just to point out that there are some very obvious differences with RX100 (ii) that to some people may be more important than sensor size and lens spec. For me 24mm is also a big selling feature IF the quality is good (let's say similar to the 15-85IS lens on APS-C DSLR, which has a similar range).

I'm sceptical regarding border/corner quality though, especially at 24mm (I'm not so positive about RX100 border/corner quality either, and its lens is less ambitious). But if Canon has a positive surprise there - lens at least as good optically as the G1x lens- I guess the increased size/weight compared to RX100 ii could be worth it and I might buy one.
