Size comparison with Sony RX100 II

Are there any size specs? Trying to see where it is twice the size of RX100.

The G1 X Mark II is 116.3 × 74.0 × 66.2 mm, according to the leaked photos of the brochure. It weighs 553 g with battery.

By comparison, the Sony RX100 II is 101.6 × 58.1 × 38.3 mm and 281 g with battery, so much smaller and lighter (half the weight).

The G1 X Mark II is a somewhat chunky camera. You just can’t get that kind of lens in a tiny camera. Nonetheless, for what it offers it is extremely small. It’s slightly cheating to say it has a 1.5"-type sensor, since it doesn’t use that whole area, but it’s still a lot larger than the 1"-type sensor used in the Sony. Will it be good enough to take advantage of that area? That remains to be seen. The Sony sensors are famously good.

The lens, with twice the number of elements (14 versus 7 in the Sony), should be far better. That’s what all that bulk gets you.
