Note I did not say "base" ISO

By "native" ISO I mean to the point where the sensor is just lowering the "full" point of the bucket. The "Hi" ISOs on Nikon are "Boosted" meaning that the "full" line in the bucket quits going down and the ADC starts to multiply the results.

The HI settings for ISO on Nikon bodies is done in software. The others "native" ISOs are done by the analog amplifiers before the ADC.
