DT covers APC but works on FF cropped

Main thing is SEL  / E or FE lenses are for mirrorless e-mount cameras don't buy them for a77

SAM/SAM II have internal focus motors but must be set to MF before you can turn the focus ring

SSM are faster usually guieter and you can turn focus ring at any time to manually adjust

G and Zeiss are the premium lenses optically,  but some of the non G like the 16-55 f2.8 are really great lenses,

Some of the old Sony and Most of the older Minolta lenses are screw drive where the body drives the lens focus.  If you turn on DMF direct manual focus. .. the body disengages after AF so you can like on SSM lenses tweak focus manually after AF complete s
