Birds in the Bronx
Feb 10, 2014

It was a cold, icy, slippery, and productive day for birding at my favorite Bx birding spot! There was lots of feed left on the ground, so many hungry birds flew in to eat. Not all my sharpest shots, but wanted to show the variety of birds still out there in the dead of winter. C&C welcome. Shot with Nex 5n 55-210 with 1.7x Tele extender cropped and processed from RAW in Lightroom.

Male Cardinal

White throated sparrows were abundant in the park.

Downy Woodpecker. Don't look too close!

Caught the "Canada synchronized swim team" at practice!

Mergansers in the hood!

Mrs. Merganser

Hey! I'm cuter than her! Keep looking at me!

I can even compress my head! Isn't that COOL?!
