Result of combining lens adapters?
Feb 9, 2014

Hey everyone. I'm not new at photography but I have a beginner's question about combining lens adapters.

Here's the situation:

I am selling my T3i (APS-C) to help pay for a 6D (Full Frame) body. All of my lenses except for a 40mm STM and 50mm 1.8 are EF-S mount, including my favorite, my Tokina 10-17mm fisheye. Yes, I know There are EF mount fisheyes, but I'm a teacher and can't afford one at the same time I buy the 6D body. At some point I will buy an EF mount super wide angle or fisheye though. I'm looking at a short term solution.

My question is, aside from the crop factor, what would happen to my image quality if I combine adapters together like an EF/EF-S lens mount to FD body and then an FD mount to an EF body. Also would there still be the chance of the mirror hitting the back lens with that much of a buffer. Also, I'm not concerned with AF. I do most of my focusing manually.

Would a configuration like that work?

Thanks for any input,
