ISo accuracy, X-E2 versus rest of the world
7 months ago

First, I am currently still a NEX 5n user, but tempted by the X-E2 as alternative to getting an A7.

Took some sample shots in a shop today and am currently comparing them.

WB accuracy in artifical light looks much better with the E2. Central sharpness of the 1855 is visibly better than the Sony 1855, however edge sharpness is lightly lower. However, I noticed that the Fuji usually takes double the exposure time compared to the Sony. Checked in dpreview comparison in the previews and some thing there, all other cameras are twice as fast.

So it looks to me as if Fujifilm is seriously "cheating". The impact of this is of course debatable, since the JPG and RAW pictures coming from the E2 are still somewhat better than the competition even if selecting double the ISO for the E2.

But maybe there is a sensible explanation for this that I don't know yet?
