Olympus OM D-E5 focuses ~12 inches behind bird- HELP!

Rather than repeat everything, I 'd appreciate it if you'd go to the BEGINNERS Forum and look for the thread with same name. I'm not a beginner. My first camera for birding was a Konica Autoreflex T in the early 1970's. I put the thread in the Beginners Forum because I bought the camera a week ago and am a new user of Olympus, four thirds, and mirror-less cameras.

With a birding photography trip coming up in a little over 2 weeks, I need to make a decision very soon- sell the camera and buy something else. With more money invested in micro four thirds lenses than in the cameras, I guess I'll chance buying another similar camera IF there's any way to rule out that the problem is the 75-300mm Olympic lens.

I've never had this problem before with other cameras.

Thanks in advance for your comments.
