Re: choosing between X-T1 and Sony A7

Not actually true. There are plenty of smallish high quality legacy lenses that shine on the A7/r.

Have a look at the fredmiranda site thread on A7/r images with legacy lenses. If you are not blown away by how good most of these images are I would be surprised.

Here is a minor list of excellent lenses on A7/r:

1. Contax G Zeiss 35 2.8, 45 2.0, 90 2.8.

2. Contax/Yashica 28 2.8 and I believe all the others. 28-85 and 35-70 zoom (a bit large maybe).

3. Minolta Rokkor 24, Olympus Zuiko 21 and 24, Canon FD 24.

4. Canon FD 85 1.8, 35 2.8 (especially)

5. Minolta Rokkor 50 1.4 - (bokeh king and gorgeous rendering).

6. Leica R Elmarit (not super expensive) 28 2.8 and others.

As you can see there are plenty and some are quite fast. Some are F1.2, 1.4 and relatively cheaper than new and fairly compact and well built with metal cases and aperture rings.

Of course the above list equally applies to Fuji X Legacy lenses and so are a draw between the 2 systems now Fuji has improved focus peaking. It wasn't before and definitely in Sony's favour.

Greg.
