I wish I was as happy with my 12-40 as everyone else seems to be. Mine does not seem particularly sharp. I've heard that it is supposed to be as sharp as the 12 2 prime.....But I think I can confidently say that my 12-40 is NOT as sharp as my copy of the 12 2.

I'm kind of disappointed, TBH.

Sad to hear that.

Are you considering looking into that further?

Maybe have calibration checked?

I don't quite know what do do. How should I go about having the calibration checked? I don't want to whine about it if in fact the lens is all it should be. But I've been using it for a few weeks now and when I get my images in Lightroom they seem soft. Without doing a direct comparison, they really strike me as less sharp than what I'm used to with my 12 2.

Feel free to advise! Thanks.

I am not that knowledgeable either, but maybe someone else can help, if you shared a few RAWs  (with EXIF) and your PP workflow.

Maybe they can advise you on how to bring out the sharpness that is there.

Or else they could confirm that there is indeed something wrong and you could have it checked by Olympus under warranty.
