A camera body, mount or brand is not a living entity, therefore it can not be alive, dead, or any level of health in between.
If you are asking how long the a-mount will be around... The answer might be found in MTBF statistics, which will apply after Sony stops repairing a-mount units.
Sony has stated that they will continue to support (which does not mean improve) a-mount.

The result is that any a-mount unit will continue to function for a significant period of time.
