Extension Tubes for Nikkor 55mm f3.5 (autocompensating)

Hello All,

I've just acquired a mid 1960's autocompensating, 55mm micro lens. While reading about it I spotted references to M, M2 and PK-13 extension tubes (all 27.5mm) to achieve 1:1 magnification. The M2 is easier to find and much cheaper, but apparently does not support autocompensating diaphragms. Truth be told I have no comprehension of these autocompensating diaphragms. Is this compatibility important? Will any of these tubes work equally well? I'm using a D5000(APSC), so its 1.6x crop factor will turn a 55mm into a 83mm(approx) which is in effective the focal length after extension, do I need an extension tube?

Please do reply expediently, not on account of an amateur's impatience, but because quite a few tantalizing ebay auctions are on time limits set to expire in under two days.

Thank you.

Nikon D5000
