When you bring the camera up to take a picture, your eye, viewfinder, flash, lens, and supporting hand, are all centrally aligned to the subject.  Ergonomically it's very natural.  (Guns and rifles are aligned that way!)

Pick up a rangefinder type mirrorless, and you'll have to scoot over 2-3 inches to the left be centred… at least with close subjects.  I'm used to that now and position myself accordingly when I use my X-E1.  However when I was comparing an OM-D and X-PRO1 yesterday, the OM-D felt more natural  when using the EVF.
