Back in December of 2012 (and a little later, in March of 2013) I remember reading somewhere that, in a few isolated instances, oil spots were showing up on the D800E sensor. Does anyone have any information about this? Thanks.

I had a d800E for a few years and the only time I saw oil smears was when I picked up some lube from the mirror hinges when using an Arctic Butterfly sensor brush. The camera was new at the time. I'm more careful when sensor cleaning now and have not seen any additional oil spots or smears.

Also, as far as I know the D800 doesn't suffer from the dreaded 'oil spot' issue like the D600 did.

This happened to me the first time I was cleaning my D800! How do you use your Arctic Butterfly now, and how did you clean it?

Tks!
