This is no different to the Nikon DF using the same sensor as the D4, the D4 sensor isn't great and caused many Nikon users to switch over to Canon

This is just a guess, but perhaps the reason Fuji used the same sensor that's used in the X100s is it's the state of the art in APS-C design. Before the first X Camera was introduced, Fuji engineers put together a design that was right in the middle of the sweet sport for that size sensor. More pixels packed into the same space results in increased digital noise levels.

It's a balancing act, and I appreciate the design for what it is. When Fuji perfects the improved sensor designs they're working on, they'll start putting them into their cameras. Would you want it any other way?
