Im weighing in late on this but I have a thought.

If you are shooting for "snapshot sized prints" (4x6) the 3:2 aspect ration "kinda" fits better.

For almost all the larger print sizes (in the US) 4:3 aspect need less cropping. (8x10, 5x7,16x20) Those are the sizes I print most (when I print at all).

The world of photography has moved away from prints, and most people seem happy to view their photos on a screen of some sort.  That being the case, you can crop to the screen if you wish.

I crop to paper sizes, seeing as the print is the GRAPH part of PHOTOGRAPH.
