I found the X-E2 to fall a little short of the image quality I am getting straight out of cam from my X-E2. I am particular about depth of color and skin tones. The X-E1 is classic Fuji all the way but I did not find this with the X-E2.

It annoys the hell out of me they appear to have "lost the ball" with the X-E2.

Fuji have always had the edge when it comes to superb color rendering and amazingly true to life skin tones. But since the X-E2 (X-Trans version 2) I'm not sure Fuji has an advantage at all any more.

In one of the X Photographers write-ups recently, he confirmed that Fuji had a color specialist from their film team join the X Series team, specifically to ensure that 'Fuji Color' DNA was maintained through these new cameras.

In that case he must have been on holidays or on sick leave when they developed the X-E2 lol

Billy, do you think this beautiful OOC JPEG (taken with the X-E2) supports your claims that Fuji has "lost the ball" when it comes to image quality and skin tones? If so, could you point out what is wrong with the image. It looks pretty good to me.
