Nikon is interested in selling cameras in high volume, so D7100, D610 and D800 fit the bill to be profitable.

My guess is a 24mp D750 pro body and D400 camera with pro body would not sell in high enough quantity so maybe they choose not to make. Some of us would love to buy one though.

Hopefully Nikon will surprise us with a D750 and D400 new upgrades to successful cameras at some point, as the other cameras do not fit some of our user needs.

Canon gets it, and offers a Canon 5D3 with 22.3 MP sensor in pro body, because some pros who take a lot of photos in a day (around 1000 or more images at events), do not want too high a MP sensor to slow down the workflow and fill up hard drives especially in RAW with 36MP. This is enough for many of us.

Cannot speak for all of us, as some of us like the 36MP D800 (and sometimes set the MP lower in camera, but you cannot in Raw unless using crop modes).
