So, I'm most likely returning the camera. And I'd really, really like to get an em5 to replace it. But will I be just as disappointed in the em5? My reading indicates that shutter shock isn't unheard of on the em5 either. But it doesn't appear to be a big enough problem to warrant being mentioned in the review here on DPReview, like they did with the ep5.

I had the same problem and bad experience with my e-pl5. Some lenses were worse than others. 45mm f1.8 was particularly affected, but 25 f1.4 was absolutely immune to shutter shock. I finally switched to Panasonic GX7, assured by the electronic shutter as a last resort option. And to my big surprise, I don't have to. Images from my 20mm f1.7 and 45 f1.8 are tack sharp in the trouble shutter speed area.

I'm amazed that it's not reported widely that some models are a lot better in this respect than others, and GX7 surely is.

owning a Nikon D600 with a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC, and a bunch of Nikon primes, a Nikon J1 but not particularly a Nikon fanboy, since I have an Olympus E-PL5, a Panasonic GX7, a Sony RX10 and a Canon S110 too!
