I have been looking to buy a new camera (currently I have an LX3), with a fairly specific setting (medical photography):
Subject will be stationary
Lighting will be indoor, overhead (not ideal but not terrible)
Camera body and lens must be convenient to transport both in terms of size and weight (camera body within large pockets, belt clip for the lens)
Journal quality photographs are needed
Ease of use (shouldn't require much time to set up and take the photo)
I have looked through a number of choices and the sony NEX-3N plus 30 mm E mount macro lens seemed to be a good choice balancing image quality and portability. Others that I considered included the Olympus PM2 with 35mm f/3.5 macro Zuiko lens (with adapter) or Panasonic GF5 with the Leica Macro-Elmarit 45mm f2.8 lens (pricey and less portable).
Let me know if you have any advice.
