Prime Lens Ideal For Music Video Shootings?

Hi everybody

Based on most articles I've found, it is highly recommended by the majority to go with prime lenses for music videos.

My question-Why is that?
I have an AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, which I understand would be categorized as a "zoom lens". I obviously can shoot "anything" with "any" working lens, but my second question is-Why would somebody say that a zoom lens is not ideal for a music video shoot? I am imagining that some might argue that a zoom lens is not ideal for such a purpose

Thanks in advance

PS: What is the whole deal about "35mm footage"? Why is it so popular?
