OP, I recommend not clicking around the internet willy nilly for LR training. Get the Scott Kelby book or some other and take it a chapter at a time, which will establish sound fundamentals.

I agree that LightRoom is great for both workflow and non-destructive edits.  I've had LightRoom for about three months.  I started by watching the videos on the Adobe site, and did a little practice after each video to reinforce what I watched.  There are also some great videos on YouTube.  I have my first book on order from Adobe, The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Book 5.

I came from using iPhoto, and I really like the change!!
