DPR's policy on this is quite interesting. The newest review, about the Sony A7, does not mention it in the conclusions page, and this being a camera whose manufacturer specifically put in a semi-electronic shutter for this sole purpose.

It's an easy thing to bury in the sand, or bury yourself in the sand for.

It is mentioned in the introduction..

"The a7 is also capable of electronic first curtain mode, which allows for a quieter shutter, and reduces the potential for 'shutter shock' vibration; this is absent from the A7R."

.. but you're right, seems that they don't like much to talk about shutter shock. Don't think it's mentioned at all in the GM1 review. Would have been natural to mention the GM1's EFCS as a 'pro', but if doing that, what then about all the cameras that don't have an electronic first curtain shutter? Should the lack of EFCS (or a fully electronic shutter) then be mentioned as a 'con'?

Yes.
