RX-10 and BIF and Action Shots - is it possible?
Jan 22, 2014

I am in the process of selling off my Alpha gear and will likely get an RX-10.  Occasionally I used to go to the pond and capture some birds flying with my A57 + Sony 55-300.  Focusing speed was OK and I was able to grab some decent shots.  The 55-300 is not a speed demon.  Has anyone tried to capture birds in flight with the RX-10? I understand CDAF of the RX10 is slower in general then PDAF on SLT cameras, but the lens on the A57 affected speed too.

Just sto curious how limiting or servicable the RX10 is for occasional birds in flight or action of any kind. Indoors (such as gymnastics) or out (kids playing).

Mostly I will photograph our kids (3 & 5) and have the RX10 along with us as a we travel accompanied by the RX100.
