Cheap lenses for the X-E1
Jan 20, 2014

I purchased an X-E1 with the 18-55mm kit lens today. I've been a Canon faithful until now and have a few decent quality EF lenses. I know there's no good way to pair up my EF lenses to the X-E1 if I want aperture control. So, I've started my search for some additional lenses for the new camera, which I'll be using primarily as a lightweight general purpose travel kit + portraits of family & friends.

While there are great XF lenses, I don't want to spend too much in a parallel lens system, although I suspect I can't entirely avoid it. Given what I plan on using the X-E1 for, if there was just one more XF lens you'd recommend, which one would it be?

Additionally, do you have recommendations for good, cheap manual focus lenses, zoom or prime, especially at the wide (<21mm) and tele (55-100) end? I have a couple of MF lenses already. I know the Rokkors are cheap and good, as are the Takumars and the MF Zuikos. But I'd appreciate specific lens recommendations.

Thanks in advance.
