Looks pretty danged good to me Perry. Especially the GB Herons.

IMO, this sort of confirms what myself and others have been saying about the 150-500mm at 500mm versus the 50-500mm at 500mm...very close to the same.

Thank you Ron. Herons are one of my favorite birds.

For the 150-500, I with it were a bit sharper. But then, I wish I could hold still better while using it too.    The shot on the log/snag was on tripod and the other was handheld.

I guess I should have been more clear about what I meant when I wrote, "...about the 150-500mm at 500mm versus the 50-500mm at 500mm...very close to the same."

Some folks say the 150-500mm is not as sahrp as the 50-500mm when shooting at 500mm. IMO, they both are acceptably sharp if stopped down to f8 or f9 or f10. I own the 50-500mm and I use it a lot. I ued o own the 150-500mm and I could not see any difference between the two at 500mm. If I had the 150-599mm again instead of the 50-500mm then I would use that one a lot. For the price, you cannot beat either of those lenses IMO.
